Dr Lawrie has had a long successful career in sales, marketing, management, and health science. Between 1971 and 1992, he held a number of marketing and management positions, including seven years in the pharmaceutical industry and three years as a management consultant in the healthcare industry. In 1992, he founded Energy Medicine Developments (EMD), launching a concerted effort to develop, research, and ultimately market innovative electromagnetic therapies for neurologically based disorders. Dr Lawrie obtained regulatory approval to market the EnerMed Therapy in Canada (License 22473) and supervised the Company’s European representatives and manufacturers in their successful effort to obtain the CE mark for distribution in Europe (CE 59470). Under his leadership EMD obtained nine Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals for studies investigating the effects of a pulsed electromagnetic field generator on symptoms of multiple sclerosis, migraine and Parkinson’s disease. The Company’s research was supported by $600,000 in grants from the U.S. National Institutes of Health and the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.
Dr Lawrie has developed proprietary electromagnetic patterns for use in the treatment of a number of medical conditions. He is experienced in the design and management of clinical research. He has been Co-Investigator and Treatment Consultant in nine IRB approved Clinical Studies investigating the effects of extremely low frequency (ELF) pulsed electromagnetic frequencies (PEMF) on the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, migraine and Parkinson’s disease.
He is a life member of the International Society for Bioelectromagnetism.
